Green Pastures Restaurant is the elegant favorite of generations of Austinites. Graceful and dignified, the 19th century Victorian home is nestled among Live Oaks, lawns, roses and herb and vegetable gardens. Brilliant peafowl roam the grounds. The staff’s sincere hospitality quietly allows the delicious and artful menu offerings to shine. Chef Charles Bloemsma’s menus feature items inspired by fresh regional ingredients and classical French ingredients and techniques. Respect for the 60-year heritage of the restaurant is reflected in classic offerings as well, including Cotillion Rolls, sweet yeast rolls made from the recipe of the restaurant’s founder, Mary Faulk Koock.
